Doris Magsaysay Ho
President and CEO — Magsaysay Group
Doris Magsaysay Ho is the Group President and CEO of A. Magsaysay, Inc., a privately-held company which traces its roots in shipowning and shipmanagement since 1948. Over the years, the company has expanded into international shipping, transport and logistics services in the Philippines, and global human resource solutions.
Ms. Ho also serves as the Chair of Lorenzo Shipping Corporation and is a Board member of several prominent business and non-profit organizations. From 2006 to 2016, she represented the Philippines as a member of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), contributing to discussions shaping global trade and economic policies.
Her contributions to the maritime industry, in charitable work, and in thought leadership have been recognized through numerous awards and citations, including the Order of Gawad Mabini (rank of Commander), awarded by the Office of the President of the Philippines in 2015.
Ms. Ho holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, New York.
Marlon Roño
President — Magsaysay People Resources Corporation
Marlon Roño is the President and CEO of Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC), the Human Resources arm of the MAGSAYSAY Group — which employs over 70,000 professionals across various industries, such as shipping, cruise, hospitality, engineering, healthcare, and Information Technology (IT) in the Philippines, Indonesia, and various other locations in Asia, the US, and Europe.
Mr. Roño is a key advocate for the maritime industry. He previously served as the President of the Filipino Association of Mariners Employment (FAME), the Philippines’ largest maritime employment association. He is also a Director of the Philippine Joint Maritime Group (PJMG), an industry-wide coalition, and the Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. (PASEI). In addition, he is also involved with the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council (PJMMC).
As a passionate advocate for community and social development, Mr. Roño is the President of Homer Foundation, Inc., the CSR arm of MAGSAYSAY. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy and various other companies. Mr. Roño holds a degree in Business Management from Ateneo de Davao University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Ateneo de Manila University.
Fernando S. Lopez
Group Chief Finance Officer — Magsaysay Group
Fernando S. Lopez is the Senior Vice President, Treasurer, and Group Chief Finance Officer of A. Magsaysay, Inc. He is responsible for overseeing the finance, treasury, and accounting functions across the Magsaysay Group of Companies, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and promoting good governance.
In addition to his role at A. Magsaysay, Mr. Lopez serves as President of Fairex Trading (Asia) Corporation and Magsaysay Houlder Insurance Brokers, Inc., (MHIBI). He also holds the position of Treasurer for several subsidiaries, including Magsaysay Maritime Corporation, Magsaysay People Resources Corporation, and Magsaysay MOL Ship Management, Inc.
Mr. Lopez is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy and a director at A. Magsaysay, Inc. and its subsidiaries. He represents the Magsaysay Group at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, from the University of the East and an MBA from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.
Arnold B. Javier
President — Magsaysay Maritime Corporation
Arnold B. Javier is the President of Magsaysay Maritime Corporation (MMC), the crew management and manning arm of the Magsaysay Group, providing top-notch, well-trained crew for merchant marine vessels and cruise ships worldwide.
Under his leadership, MMC has received prestigious honors, including the Presidential Award of Excellence from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and recognition from the PAG-IBIG Fund as the top OFW Recruitment/Manning Agency. The company is also praised for its active role in offering overseas opportunities through its Endorsement Program.
Mr. Javier, a consistent board placer in the Professional Regulation Commission licensure exams, was the first Filipino scholar of V. Ships Norway (1991). He served as a commissioned Naval Officer with the rank of Ensign. In addition, he is also a board member of the Magsaysay Cooperative Association and a trustee of the Filipino Shipowners Association. Mr. Javier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA).
Patrick H. Maxwell
President – Magsaysay Global Services Inc.
Patrick Reed Ho Maxwell is the President of Magsaysay Global Services, Inc. (MGSI), the land-based manpower and human resources services arm of Magsaysay. MGSI specializes in providing best-in-class business solutions for global recruitment and placement across industries and domestic executive search for Philippine-based companies.
Mr. Maxwell joined Magsaysay People Resources Corporation (MPRC) in 2017 as Vice President, where he played a key role in overseeing strategic planning, business development, and shared services across the Group. He also serves as President of Magsaysay Property Management Corporation & Realities and PeopleLink, Inc. and is a board member of several Magsaysay subsidiaries.
Prior to his role at Magsaysay, Mr. Maxwell was with SEACOR Holdings, where he led business development in the oil and gas sector and was instrumental in forming a joint venture between SEACOR and Magsaysay. He holds a Master of Business degree from IESE Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Michael Morales
President – MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy
Prior to his current role, he served for more than two decades at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) from 1986 to 2008 as an instructor and academic reform leader, where he spearheaded major academic reforms and helped establish centers of excellence that strengthened the academy’s academic framework. A computer scientist by training, he also developed a network-based marine radar simulator used to train naval and maritime cadets. His academic work includes research on leadership training at military academies in Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia as a Senior Research Fellow of the Asian Public Intellectuals Program of the Japan Foundation, and later as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Since 2008, he has also served as a faculty member at the International Graduate School of Leadership and as a regional staff leader for a global Christian organization in Southeast Asia.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the United States Coast Guard Academy, a master’s degree in Computer Science from Ateneo de Manila University, and a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom. He was recognized as one of the country’s Outstanding Teachers by the Metrobank Foundation and is a recipient of The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS) award.
Paolo Santino Guevara
President – Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Inc.
He joined MIHCA in 2006 as a Senior Chef Instructor and was appointed Culinary Training Head in 2008. In 2010, he became Institute Director and was later named President in 2016, where he has since led the institution’s program expansion and industry partnerships. Prior to joining MIHCA, he gained extensive culinary experience as a Culinary Instructor at De La Salle University, Executive Sous Chef at Tower Club Philippines, and as part of the culinary team at Shangri-La’s Cheval Blanc from 1995 to 2002, where he progressed from Commis to Chef de Partie.
Chef Guevara holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Philippine Women’s University and has completed advanced culinary training programs at Johnson & Wales University in the United States and Ateneo de Manila University. He is a certified Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Competency Lead Assessor for Ship’s Catering Service National Certificate I to III and a Certified National TVET Trainer for Commercial Cooking NC II and Ship’s Catering Service I.
Alex M. Enriquez, Ph.D.
President – Magsaysay Learning Resources, Inc.
Institute Director – Magsaysay Institute of Shipping
Prior to his current role, he served for nearly two decades as Institute Director of the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS), where he strengthened the cadetship program and led the feasibility study, institutional design, and regulatory groundwork that led to the establishment of the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA). Under his leadership, MIS expanded its maritime upgrading programs and introduced trades and vocational training initiatives, while maintaining international certifications in quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management systems.
Dr. Enriquez began his maritime career after earning a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy and sailing on international oil tankers with leading shipping companies such as Mobil, Shell, and Stena Bulk. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from De La Salle University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Philippine Christian University.
